The one place you should never get a piercing according to an expert

Piercings can be tricky things, with so many horror stories and dos and don’t floating around the internet, it’s surprising that so many people still go under the needle.

Well, it would be if piercings weren’t so damn cute.
But how do people contemplating piercings go about deciding where on their body to have the deed done?

Bustle spoke to an expert on the subject to cut through the layers of internet crap and find out if there really are danger areas we should avoid getting pierced.
Thankfully for all you tragus/nipple/belly button piercing addicts out there, there was only one place TJ Cantwell, a piercer from Studio 28, said was truly dangerous to get pierced.
Here at Studio 28 Tattoos we have one piercing that we refuse to do. It is typically called a “snake bite piercing“; Which, in case you were wondering “is a curved barbell put through the tip of the tongue.” And TJ adds: “It is incredibly unsafe to have this piercing.”

Oh and in case you were wondering the reason why this piercing – also known as a snake eyes piercing – is totally NSFL (Not Safe For Life), TJ explained it pretty clearly…

“It binds together the 2 muscles that make up the tongue so they cannot move independently.”

“The jewellery itself sits on the back of the teeth. It is almost guaranteed that the client will see gum erosion, cracking/chipping of the teeth, and migration/rejection of the piercing leaving a nasty looking scar.”
Oh good.

13 occasions when you shouldn’t wear thongs

Jill Rabin, MD, ob-gyn professor, points, that a tiny strap of fabric on the back of the thongs can rub sore your anus and vulva, when you walk. It can result in infection. So, if you buy thongs, make sure that they fit perfectly.

Here are 13 occasions, when thongs shouldn’t be worn at all.

1. When you are going to wear tight fitting clothers all day long

We mean most sportswear, like spandex leggings. It is made of unbreathable fabrics, which means more sweat and heat, a perfect environment for germs. Don’t wear thongs on a workout!

2. Thongs made of man-made fibres

Cotton is breathable. It gives access to oxygen for healthy acidity in female genitals, while man-made fibers don’t.

3. When you are wearing a mini skirt

Think twice, or even thrice, before putting on thongs and a mini skirt when you are going to use public transport or go to a café. Your skirt will always slide up, leaving the skin in your most private parts exposed to bacteria.

4. When you are prone to infections

We mean yeast infection and others.

5. When you are pregnant

Pregnancy challenges your immune system, so you risk catching vaginal infection. It can harm the fetus!

6. When you skip a shower

If you don’t take a shower at least once a day, you risk catching a vaginal infection. Thus, thongs are no good for you.

7. When you change tampons rarely
You’d better wear slips to avoid leaks. Thongs will surely fail you.

8. When you use pads
Again, it’s better to wear slips to avoid any discomfort.

9. When you use intimate deodorants

Doctors strongly recommend not to use them. They threaten your immune system. So, if you want to get rid of any undesired smells, wear slips.

10. When you have leaks

It can be not only menstruations, but also vaginal discharge and drops of urine in case of a bladder disease, that causes leaks. It’s obvious that wearing thongs with these conditions is a totally bad idea.

11. When you don’t use condoms (and have a lot of partners)
But where is the connection? Lack of condom means unsafe sex, which makes you exposed to infection, while thongs irritate the skin and makes it more vulnerable.

12. When you are sick
Your immune system has already been attacked by bacteria and viruses. So, why should you risk your health even more? Thongs enable new bacteria to penetrate into your body and aggravate your condition.

13. When you are going to choose a swimming suit
So you go swimming suit shopping? Great! And now imagine how many women have tried on that swimming suit before you. You can easily catch the bacteria, that might stay on the cloth, when your private parts are scantily covered with thongs.

So small panties and so many risks. Be careful, dear ladies.
